Ukrainian poligraphic market goes to high style
From：Taiwan Trade Center, Kyiv
The crisis 2014-2017 years promise to become "fateful" for Ukrainian printing. Change not only the volume, but also the structure of the printing market.
The printing business of Ukraine is shifting from mass and relatively cheap print (newspapers and other offset press) runs towards low-circulation, but more expensive products, up to "elitism". In the end, the winners are the printers who made a bet on the quality of their work. Although, until recently it seemed that the scales are inclined towards typographical dumping. However, everything in order.
The main object of complaints and mutual reproaches of players in the printing industry remains dumping. Several factors coincided with the problem:
- the desire of customers to save in the financial crisis
- technical progress in the printing equipment industry. "Entrance ticket" in business today is estimated at about 30-45 000 USD. It is clear that we are talking about the lower segment of printing, but at some stage this became the most urgent.
The appearance of newcomers could not but affect the market, in which even traditional participants became cramped after 2013.
Nevertheless, the situation develops in favor of high-quality products. So everything is more popular than small print runs from 200 to 1000 copies, but made in an exclusive format and using expensive "designer" materials. Business companies prefer to order not just corporate booklets and brochures, but representative information products for a specific event or presentation.
On the example of advertisers from "Format-Kharkiv": http://format-kharkov.com.ua/ - it is clear which seal (in addition to large format) today is most relevant:
- ultraviolet printing for applying today's pictures, logos and other images on glass, floor, furniture and other non-standard surfaces, including modular paintings
- Digital offset, which provides much higher quality of comparative standard printing of letters, business cards or flyers. Also relevant in the manufacture of photobooks.
It turned out that the total reduction in circulation and even the complete closure of newspaper and magazine publications. Even the political elections of the head of Ukraine and the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada were too slow and did not create an agiotage demand for the multi-circulation leaflets and booklets. While domestic entrepreneurship is increasingly aware that "the image is everything".
