San Luis Potosí has become the first entity in Mexico to have an ambulance specialized in the care of animals in street conditions. It is a public and free service that will be given in the so-called “Ambudog” ambulance that will operate in the municipality of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez.

It is an advanced medical alternative for abandoned animals. An itinerant service that is in charge of specialized personnel assigned to Municipal Public Safety, through the Animal Control and Protection Unit.

The metropolitan area of San Luis Potosí has become a “pet-friendly/animal-lover” space since it boasts places that provide free food and water to pets and homeless animals.

According to figures from animal protection organizations and the Ministry of Health, in the Potosí metropolis there is a population of around 300,000 stray dogs.

The “Ambudog” is a unique project of its kind throughout the country, as it will not only attend to dogs and cats in street conditions, but to any person that requires service for their pet, including sterilization.
