Ukrzaliznytsya told how worn out are their locomotives
From：Taiwan Trade Center Kyiv.
PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsya" plans to write off 30-40% of the fleet of locomotives because of their unsuitability. This was reported by Chairman of the Board of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Yevgeny Kravtsov.
“Today, from the general fleet of Ukrzaliznytsia, from 30% to 40% of locomotives - diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and shunting diesel locomotives - cannot be restored. In accordance with established procedures, after the certification we will write them off and implement them in accordance with the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers. Now we are “testing” this procedure on the write-off of non-recoverable cars. It provides for an independent assessment of relevant facilities and their implementation through the ProZorro system Sales, ”Kravtsov said.
Recall, according to the UZ data specified in the development strategy of Ukrzaliznytsia for 2017–2021, the working fleet of main electric locomotives is 66% of the inventory, and its wear is 84%. The working fleet of mainline diesel locomotives is 42% of inventory, wear - 84%.
According to the open data of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the fleet of UZ diesel locomotives is 1936 units, the fleet of electric locomotives is 1625 e., the diesel fleet of diesel trains has 301 sections, 165 trains.
Why is it important? “Ukrzaliznytsia” has repeatedly declared about the shortage of cars and traction, which negatively affects the work of the business. And if with the UZ carriages for today the situation has at least stabilized, then with the problems the last years are very acute. According to experts, the locomotive traction of PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" today is worn by 97%. And this leads to downtime and disruption of the schedule.
Due to the lack of traction, the cars are idle on the roads of Ukrzaliznytsia. For example, the company "Lemtrans" of Rinat Akhmetov in the middle of June reported a downtime of more than 2 thousand loaded and empty cars. Increasing the number of GE locomotives should help businesses save money on logistics.
