【COVID-19】Franchise

Franchise Expo Paris has been pushed back to May 2020 in response to global precautions against COVID-19.

Because of the epidemic of COVID-19, the French government has banned all indoor gatherings of more than 5,000 people since 29 February 2020, as part of efforts to contain the country's coronavirus outbreak. Reed Expositions France, organizer of Franchise Expo Paris, in agreement with the French Franchise Association, has announced that the 2020 edition of the event is postponed to a later date, from 24th to 27th of May 2020, and in Pavilions 2 and 3, Porte de Versailles, which is the same Pavilion as previously planned.

TAITRA will lead a delegation to Franchise Expo Paris in May, and keep promoting Taiwan’s participation in the event via digital marketing. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, TAITRA also plans to create a food and beverage franchising section on Taiwantrade(tw.Taiwantrade.com), which is the largest B2B ecommerce platform in Taiwan, and enhances exposures of Taiwanese franchisor brands online.

Meanwhile, TAITRA will hold “2020 International Franchise Business Day” on June 24 in Taipei, and welcome all potential agents/channels to take part in this event. Taiwan’s rapid response to COVID-19 has received positive recognition worldwide, and, therefore, the risk of infection to international travelers within Taiwan is considered low to minimal. As of writing, of a total of 49 confirmed cases reported in Taiwan, 1 was deceased, while 17 were released from isolation, and the remainder was hospitalized in stable condition, thanks to the government’s effort to public health protection through quick mobilization and implementation of specific approaches to case identification, containment and resources allocation.
