【COVID-19】Partnering

The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has pushed more companies and organizations to work remotely. Such changes simultaneously made people stay at home more, thus driving up the demand for products that facilitate remote working, including workplace software, online collaboration, cloud solutions, personal computer and mobile phone usage, and the related gadgets.

Big tech companies (Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Twitter) have implemented remote working policies for many or all of their employees around the globe to remain at home due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. But for companies in more traditional industries such as cultural and creative industry, most of their works aren’t possible to perform remotely. And this coronavirus outbreak could really impact the industry.

Prior to the pandemic, the global supply chain was interrupted by a trade conflict. However, demand for information and communication technology continued to grow. Google and Microsoft have also responded to COVID-19. Google announced that it would be rolling out free access to advanced features for “Hangouts Meet” to all G Suite and G Suite for Education customers globally.

Microsoft is offering “The tier”, a free six-month trial globally for a premium tier of Microsoft Teams. “The tier” was originally designed to enable hospitals, schools, and businesses in China to get up and running quickly on Microsoft Teams, and that tier is now available globally.

And also “Zoom” has seen significant growth as workers, families, and even presidential campaigns have used the video conferencing software for virtual meetings due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Now, TAITRA will hold an online one-on-one meeting event to help Taiwanese companies amid this coronavirus outbreak “Taiwan Cultural and Creative Industry matchmaking” on April 22 – 23,2020. This is a great business opportunity to meet with Taiwan’s most interesting products and service providers in the cultural and creative fields including creative design, fine arts and crafts, digital contents (video games, animation), IP licensing and, printing design. TAITRA will provide great online meetings with Zoom calling, and using Hangouts Meet on the video conferencing in the coming future.

Over the last decade, Taiwan’s cultural and creative industries have greatly contributed to GDP growth, employment, and international competitiveness in many countries around the world. As time goes by, and with continuous innovation, Taiwan has developed its own unique and diverse culture.
