【COVID-19】TAITRA assists in holding Webinars on the response to COVID-19 in Taiwan

As a role model for the COVID-19 pandemic management worldwide, how Taiwan Smart Hospital, Smart Healthcare Companies and Healthcare System build strong, coordinated, inclusive, and coherent teamwork in response to the COVID-19 crisis with IT technologies? How is the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the global and Southeast Asia economic growth? This series of webinars is co-hosted by Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH), Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taipei Computer Association (TCA), and Metal Industries Research and Development Centre (MIRDC). It aims to deepen the relationship and cooperation among Taiwan, Thailand, and other Asian countries on smart healthcare development. From April 24, 2020 (Fri), different topics will be shared every 2-3 weeks.
The webinars invite medical professionals, scholars, researchers, and directors from the public health bureau of government, smart hospitals, Institution for Economic Research, and College of Public Health, National Taiwan University (NTUCPH) to share the secrets of “Team Taiwan” combating the COVID-19 epidemic. Furthermore, smart healthcare companies are also invited to illustrate the critical roles their products played in fighting COVID-19.
The topic for the first session on April 24, 2020 (Fri) was “Response to COVID-19 in Changhua Christian Hospital” presented by Dr. Liu Chun-Eng, the attending physician in the Department of Infectious Diseases, CCH. He revealed how CCH responded to COVID-19, including the policies to handle potential nosocomial and community infection, and the cooperation with Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) as well as the local public health bureau. A total of 126 medical professionals from Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, Nepal, Malaysia and other countries were online to join the webinar.
The second session will be on April 30, presented by Dr. Lee Roy Chun, Deputy Director of The Taiwan WTO and RTA Center, focusing on the topic of “The Likely Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Global and Southeast Asia Countries,” everyone interested in this topic are welcome to join us.
