The epidemic of COVID-19 is raging across the world. Taiwan has had an outstanding anti-epidemic performance due to its excellent medical infrastructure, which has drawn positive international attention to Taiwan's medical industry. TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) actively facilitates webinars of Taiwan's COVID-19 epidemic prevention between domestic and overseas hospitals.

In view of the imperative pandemic situation in Bangladesh and received the request for anti-epidemic assistance from Bangladesh, TAITRA joined hands with the Taiwanese government and organizations, raising supplies from the private sector in hopes of alleviating the shortage of local anti-epidemic materials in Bangladesh and worked with E-DA Hospital sharing successful experience in improving prevention measures and reducing local infections.

On 4th June, E-DA Hospital, TAITRA, Taiwan Nobel Medical Group, AIDEA, and TMISWAA conducted an online epidemic prevention seminar. The discussion includes Taiwan’s epidemic prevention experiences, such as the sharing of new coronavirus (COVID-19) testing methods, drug treatment programs, methods of managing the number of cases, mask control policies. More than 80 doctors and over 7,000 viewers participate in the online seminar.

Bangladesh has its unique challenges, but it also impressed many by their eagerness to learn more about the COVID-19 pandemic. TAITRA believes that through future exchanges of ideas and information, Taiwan and Bangladesh will be close partners in successfully controlling the coronavirus and strengthening medical knowledge and practices.
