Stadler Minsk CJSC plans to produce about 400 wagons in 2020, director of Stadler Minsk CJSC Philip Brunner told reporters before the plenary meeting of the Belarusian-Swiss business council, BelTA has learned.
This year, 280 wagons will be produced at the Fanipol plant, both finished passenger trains and car kits. These are single-story, double-decker trains, trams and metro cars. The products are delivered to Hungary, Norway, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, South America and others. Next year, the first converters for trams assembled in Belarus are planned to be sent to Switzerland.
The main customers in Belarus are the Belarusian Railways and the Minsk Metro. The enterprise also expects to take part in the Minsktrans tender for the supply of equipment.
“The plan for 2020 is almost 400 wagons. This is an additional 30% of the capacity,” said Philippe Brunner.
At a meeting of the Belarusian-Swiss business council, Stadler Minsk shares its work experience in Belarus and is ready to better familiarize Swiss businessmen with investment opportunities.
The Stadler Minsk plant was officially opened on November 20, 2014. The company is part of the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group, which for over 75 years has been one of the leading European manufacturers of railway rolling stock. The Stadler Rail Group also has branches in Austria, Australia, Algeria, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy and the USA.
The Belarusian-Swiss Business Council was established in 2013. It is designed to promote the intensification of bilateral foreign economic relations, strengthen and deepen cooperation between companies in the field of trade and investment, identify and overcome barriers to trade, etc.
