Taiwan’s Content Industry Heads to “Content Tokyo” to Gain International Cooperation Opportunities

Japan's largest content licensing exhibition (Content Tokyo) will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, April 14-16, 2021. To assist Taiwan’s content industry in exploring the overseas markets, under the authorization of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has organized the Taiwan Pavilion at Content Tokyo to generate promising business opportunities.

TAITRA has organized 11 brands for the Taiwan Pavilion at Content Tokyo 2021, covering original characters, art IP, and animation productions. Brands include DNAXCAT、FUTURE-DIGI、KIN MA TON、MY FAVORITE TOWELS、NEXT ANIMATION STUDIO、ProMEtheus、PYI PYI FAMILY、QUEMOLICA、 So-net Entertainment Taiwan、SUNNY BAG、SUNNY FIBER. According to the Licensing International 2020 annual report, the Global sales revenue generated by licensed merchandise and services grew to $292.8 billion in 2019, a 4.5 percent increase over the $280.3 billion generated in 2018. Japan is a thriving licensing market in Asia, and the world's third largest, with a total revenue of US$14.3 billion. Content Tokyo is an important B2B platform for Taiwanese IP to engage with global licensing agents, product manufacturers, publishers, channels, and the media.
