TAITRA Assists Taiwan’s Content Industry to Leap onto the Japan Market

To assist Taiwan’s content industry to enter the international markets, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade MOEA, has organized the Taiwan Pavilion at Content Tokyo 2022 to create promising business opportunities.
TAITRA has organized 12 brands for the Taiwan Pavilion at Content Tokyo 2022, covering original characters, art IP, and animation productions. Brands include COMIC X STUDIO, DNAXCAT, HUNG TRONIC, MICROCOSMIC, ProMEtheus, PYI PYI FAMILY, SO-NET ENTERTAINMENT, SUNNY FIBER, SUNTHINGOOD, UEI-SHIANG, WANTERFUL and WEIDO. TEA GIRLS is an IP character designed by COMIC X STUDIO. The rise of the Metaverse and Web 3.0 inspired COMIC X STUDIO to launch its own virtual currency, Tea Token, and their very first NFT.
DNAXCAT creates a digital world for pet cats where players can raise and breed varieties of cute cats while fight shoulder to shoulder in the adventure world, and players can also earn tokens during gameplay and trade them for cash.
WEIDO released its first IP NFT (mydeerdog’s home for strays NFT), an animal protection NFT with a goal to raise support for stray animals.
According to Licensing International 2020 annual report, the Global sales revenue generated by licensed products and services grew to $292.8 billion in 2019, a 4.5 percent increase from $280.3 billion in 2018. Japan is a thriving licensing market in Asia, and the world's third largest, with a total revenue of US$14.3 billion.
