Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, continues to bet on Mexican talent with more than 50 projects in different stages of production that include original content and co-productions for 2019 and 2020. Additionally, the company confirmed the opening of a Mexico City office for this year.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer, met with the creative community to speak about the importance of Mexico in the world of entertainment and their future plans at the conference FORO: a Netflix original event. “The richness of talent in front of and behind the camera in Mexico was key in our decision to begin our local production strategy with “Club de Cuervos” four years ago. Since then, we have continued to expand our local investment and continue to provide a platform for Mexican talent to be recognized around the world,” he concluded.

The streaming media company announced the production of four movies in Mexico, which will be launched on the online platform within the next 2 years.

Some of the projects are: “Como caído del cielo” (As if he fell from heaven), a musical comedy inspired by the songs of the iconic Mexican singer Pedro Infante, written and directed by Pepe Bojórquez, “Fondeados”, Marcos Bucay´s debut as director and screenwriter, “Se busca papá” (Dad wanted), produced by Corazón Films, and “Ahí te encargo” (Just so you know), which seeks to offer a modern look into the romantic comedy genre, written by Leonardo Zimbrón and Tiaré Scanda.
