On the first day of Vietnam Medi-Pharm (May 10-13, 2023), the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) organized the 'Taiwan Dental Materials and Orthopedics Industry Day,' focusing on dental and orthopedic professional themes." TAITRA coordinated with participating manufacturers to hold product and technology presentations, rent booths during the exhibition, and display samples.
Through the promotion of products and medical services, the aim is to enhance the local reputation, visibility, and popularity of Taiwan's health industry, thereby creating media attention and promoting business opportunities.
TAITRA arranged for medical referral platform JVHB in Hanoi to have one-on-one business matchmaking with Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. After the meeting, JVHB visited the proton center at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and began referring Vietnamese patients to the hospital for treatment.
From October 27th to 29th, 2023, the referral platform plans to invite Dr. Hsieh, Cheng-En, and his team from Linkou Chang Gung Memorial International Medical Center to deliver professional cancer treatment lectures at Hong Ngoc Hospital (Benh vien da khoa tu nhan Hong Ngoc) in Vietnam. The lectures aim to target local doctors and patients, initiate medical treatment and referrals, and encourage further cooperation.
JVHB is a platform for local high-end customers to seek referrals in Japan and Singapore for treatment, and has many years of experience in medical referrals. This time, our group organized the Taiwanese healthcare delegation based on professional themes, combined Taiwan's advanced medical cooperation projects, and responded to the needs of Vietnam's expanding health market through integrated marketing, yielding fruitful results.
A Co., Ltd.Since its establishment 8 years ago, the chain franchise brand "OO" under A Co., Ltd. has developed more than 200 stores in Taiwan. The first overseas store opened successfully in the West Coast of the United States in June this year (2023), successfully expanding the brand territory to overseas.
In addition to continuing to promote the franchise business in Taiwan and overseas, considering the busy life of modern people and consumers' emphasis on convenience and speed, Company A also actively developed branded packaged food in the channel. Since June 2022, Company A started its cooperation with Q Supermarket. It also cooperates with famous convenience store from 2023, in order to grasp the channel sales opportunities.
Company A participated in the 2023 International Franchise Exhibition New York City- Taiwan Chain Brands Pavilion (Jun/1~3) and took part in the channel visit activity in New Jersey. Company A's supervisor, Mr. Lin, stated that this exhibition marks the company's first venture into the U.S. East Coast market. The number of potential franchise buyers inquiring about the brand exceeded their original expectations, and they were quite satisfied with the quality of visiting buyers and the pre-show channel visit activities.
During the exhibition, Company A held discussions with several well-known American supermarkets, including Costco, Hmart, and TAWA Supermarket. This move undoubtedly expands Company A's brand presence into the American supermarket channels.
Furthermore, Company A's first overseas franchise store successfully opened on the U.S. West Coast in June this year. During this exhibition, the company also engaged with local restaurant operators and beauty industry professionals interested in investing in bubble tea. After the exhibition, Company A entered into discussions with these two potential buyers for cooperation and agency details. It is foreseeable that in the near future, the OO brand will also shine and thrive on the U.S. East Coast.
Kiwico CorporationHMM (Kiwico Corporation) is a local Taiwanese brand established in 2014 by Kiwico Corporation, a group of designers focusing on brand development and product design. It emerged as an independent entity, breaking away from the structure of an advertising design company to establish the HMM Design Brand. In addition to classic and creative designs, HMM incorporates elements of environmental sustainability. Their stationery products, including rulers, scissors, slide pens, and paper clips, have garnered domestic and international recognition and awards.
In 2019, TAITRA reached HMM and extended a proactive invitation for them to participate in The Cultural and Creative Matchmaking Event. Despite their numerous international design awards, HMM had not previously engaged in TAITRA's activities and was unaware of our role in assisting businesses with global marketing. From 2019 to 2023, including the challenging COVID-19 period, TIATRA provided HMM with timely and diverse marketing channels through various cultural and creative promotion activities.
For the 2023 Cultural and Creative Matchmaking Event, TAITRA had arranged Muy and HMM for online meetings successfully on April 12. Soon HMM, had already completed the first shipment of their entire product range in mid-May. According to HMM Manager Mei, the French market has been stagnant due to the pandemic, and inflation caused by the war has impacted the German market. Muy has demonstrated the most proactive and swift response among Mei's negotiation counterparts. Consequently, both parties have signed an agreement appointing Muy as the regional distributor for Spain and Portugal. TAITRA has successfully facilitated HMM (Kiwico Corporation) secure the agency contract with Muy and establish new marketing channels in Spain and Portugal.
OriGem BiotechOriGem Biotech participated in Bio International Covention 2022, an international biotechnology fair, for the first time as a Taiwanese startup biotech company, introducing its own smart single-cell capture and culture platform called CellGem. CellGem is a user-friendly platform designed for single-cell capture and culture purposes. During the exhibition, two American distributors approached OriGem to inquire about their technology and requested samples. With the assistance of TAITRA, the samples were sent to these two agents in San Diego, and contracts with the distributors were successfully signed earlier this year.
Fried Chicken MasterFried Chicken Master is the first Taiwanese fried chicken brand to obtain the certification of Muslim-friendly restaurant. Their total number of stores has exceeded 90 worldwide. Fried Chicken Master has actively participated in TAITRA’s global events, such as International exhibitions, International Business Opportunity Day and online trade meetings to expand the overseas markets.
On March 23 2023, under the witness of Chairman of TAITRA, James Huang, Fried Chicken Master and Happy Lemon held a signing ceremony for their Strategic Memorandum of Regional Cooperation in the United States.
Happy Lemon has expanded to more than 200 cities in 20 countries around the world, and the total number of stores in the United States exceeds 100. It has very rich experience in the development of the United States. The signing of the strategic memorandum of cooperation between the two brands will add new momentum to the growth of the two companies in the US market, and will also initiate more cooperation opportunities at home and abroad in the future.

Studio UntoS Design Co., Ltd., based in New York City, USA, was founded by two industrial designers who studied and worked in the US. It is a typical small creative design enterprise in Taiwan. OO Technologies Inc.During the three days of the Taiwan Expo USA 2022, there was a constant flow of visitors and media interviews, especially from US officials, the United States Public Health Service, and the Chinese American Doctors Association. The first day of the exhibition was combined with the Medical Innovation forum, and was attended by former Vice President Chen Chien-Jen and Chi-Huey Wong from the Scripps Research Institute, Academia Sinica. The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion attracted professional buyers from as far away as Texas to learn more about the products. Exhibitors said that, unlike other professional exhibitions, this Taiwan Expo USA has the potential to improve a company's image in all aspects, while getting in touch with the US policy decision-making and government procurement departments, creating unlimited business opportunities.
OO Technologies Inc.'s AR Smart Glasses were very popular, and many interviews and discussions were held during the Exhibition. In addition to U.S. companies, Delta Electronics, Inc. from Taiwan also came to talk to OO Technologies Inc. about cooperation in the industrial use of AR smart glasses. The trip was very fruitful, with 110 visitors to the exhibition and US$1.5 million in follow-up business opportunities.

TZULAï offers high-quality household productsTZULAï was established in 2013, and its team members are from the business, marketing and senior designer team of Gaochang Trading. Gaochang Trading has been engaged in the manufacture of household products for 30 years, mainly designing and OEM for high-end European brands; through the integration of Taiwan factories, Gaochang can not only manufacture and develop high-quality household products, but also have independent design capabilities.
The Gaochang team has been devoted to cultivating Taiwanese local culture in recent years, and TZULAï was born out of the love for Taiwanese culture.
