Private postal operator in Ukraine "Nova Poshta" received a loan of 9.5 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the construction of a sorting terminal in Khmelnitsky. This is reported by the press service of the company.

The project envisages the construction of a sorting terminal with modern equipment in Khmelnitsky, the average throughput of which exceeds the usual three times and is about 8,500 parcels per hour. The total sorting capacity will be 18 thousand shipments per hour.

The terminal is planned to be built within one year. The duration of the joint project "Nova Poshta" and the EBRD will be seven years.

According to Pyotr Fokov, financial director of the Nova Poshta group of companies, the company decided to use credit funds to increase the efficiency of operations, in particular, by automating and introducing modern technologies that require the creation of modern infrastructure.

The press release also notes that the project of building a terminal in Khmelnitsky will provide an opportunity to increase the efficiency of loading cars by 20% and reduce emissions to the atmosphere by 1,200 tons per year.

In the future, energy efficiency measures are also planned at the terminal itself, for example, installation of solar panels, LED lighting and others.

Recall that the "Nova Poshta" opened the first phase of the sorting center on the right bank of Kiev in the area Zhulyan. The name of the new center is "Kiev Innovation Terminal". The center will serve the center, the Right Bank of Kiev and the Kiev region.

The new terminal can serve more than 350 thousand packages per day. In this case, the first phase of the center is designed for processing only parcels and small parcels (envelopes).

Sorting equipment supplied by Vanderlande. The key element of the system is a barcode scanner that recognizes the weight and dimensions of the parcel, the code itself, inserts it into the system, finds the direction to which the goods should be sent, gives a signal to the sorting tape for positioning the discharge pads, which knock the parcel into the sleeve for further shipment.

Note, "Nova Poshta" was founded in 2001. Its network has more than 2.35 thousand offices, the company's fleet consists of more than 3,600 cars. In 2017, the company delivered over 145 million shipments.
