CRC Thai Watsadu Co, a home improvement unit under Central Retail Corporation, has invested around 600 million baht to open its 47th store on 40,000 square metres in Nakhon Pathom, a neighbouring province of Bangkok.

Accentuating the concept of a one-stop home improvement centre, the expansion is expected to address the growing needs of the real estate sector in the province, with the grand opening taking place on March 28.

"We are addressing consumer demand with our new store on the outbound side of Phetkasem Road heading to Ratchaburi and Kanchanaburi provinces," said chief executive Suthisarn Chirathivat. "Our target groups include both customers looking to build new houses and those wanting to improve old houses, living within 20 kilometres of the store. There are 190,000 households living within that distance, and Nakhon Pathom has a population of nearly 900,000."

Mr Suthisarn said Nakhon Pathom is a province that enjoys high economic growth and rapid expansion of local tourism, given the increasing number of hotels, resorts and restaurants, as well as the improved transport system. This means there is much demand for construction and home improvement from both households and the tourism sector, he said.

The chain's target groups include customers looking to build new houses and those looking to improve old houses.

"Thai Watsadu sees this as an opportunity to fulfil the needs of our consumers, including homeowners, tourism entrepreneurs and homebuilders, with a wide selection of products for construction, decoration and fixing," he said. "We also offer the vFix service for home improvement from our experienced specialists, helping to make us a one-stop centre."

Customers can use the Line app to contact the company at Thaiwatsadu, or use thaiwatsadu.thai on Facebook. Call Center 1308 offers the Chat & Shop function.

In February, the company opened its 46th Thai Watsadu store on 18,000 sq m in Nakhon Ratchasima with an investment of 500 million baht, aiming to expand the chain's reach in the Northeast.

The company plans to open more branches in eastern provinces in the first half of this year, investing similarly to the two preceding branches.
