For the “new southbound countries” where the healthcare industry is booming, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) invites BDMS, NAVAMIN, the largest hospital group from Thailand, Bhagat and Company from India, Adi Husada Cancer Center from Indonesia, Sea Lion from Myanmar, Lung Center from the Philippines, Holistic Pharmacy Sdn Bhd from Malaysia, and District 2 Hospital from Vietnam, a total of 14 medical material importers, agents, distributors, and medical institutions from 7 countries to join the “2019 New Southbound Healthcare Industry Trade Meeting” on November 26 in the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC).

There were more than 50 domestic suppliers involved and nearly 130 one-on-one meeting arranged. Among them, the Taiwanese smart healthcare system was the most popular among the buyers since the requirement of that is in line with the expanding development of the healthcare industry. The District 2 Hospital of Vietnam was especially interested in the Wisdom Hospital Information System (HIS) of Tao Yuan General Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and would make special arrangements for further cooperation with Tao Yuan General Hospital.

TAITRA invited the largest medical group in Thailand, BDMS, to introduce the current state of the Thai medical market and related regulations on the import of medical materials, which helped domestic medical devices manufacturers to explore the Thai medical market. Thailand’s medical services are well-known internationally, but the establishment of the hospital wisdom system has just begun. In response to the buyer’s demand for smart healthcare, TAITRA also arranged a visit to BenQ Trident Medical and Advantech after the fair for further understanding of the applications and development of the smart healthcare system in Taiwan.

At the opening ceremony, TAITRA’s President & CEO Walter Yeh stated that Taiwan’s high-quality healthcare industry combined with global leading ICT industry has achieved fruitful applications in smart healthcare, and today’s event is held in the hope of promoting more business opportunities and benefiting the people of the southbound countries. The Medical Materials Association and Assistive Devices Association also expressed profound gratitude for the establishment of such an international marketing platform for manufacturers.
