According to the results of the first quarter of this year, import deliveries of PET granulate to Russia increased by 23% compared to 2019 and amounted to 37.6 thousand tons against 30.5 thousand tons (excluding deliveries from Belarus over the past month), according to the report of ScanPlast company Market report.

Last month, imports of material to the Russian market doubled to 17.4 thousand tons against 7.3 thousand tons in February, and in March last year, imports of material amounted to 11.9 thousand tons.

According to the results of three months of this year, imports of Chinese injection PET granulate to the Russian market increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2019-up to 29.3 thousand tons. The same indicator in January - March 2019 was 26.7 thousand tons.

The share of imports from China of bottled PET since the beginning of the year has decreased in comparison with the same period of the previous year and amounted to 78% against 88%.

The volume of Chinese deliveries last month was 95% (16.5 thousand tons) against 85% (6.2 thousand tons) a month earlier. In March last year, this indicator was at the level of 79% (9.3 thousand tons).

Manufacturers Yisheng and Sinopec had the largest number of external deliveries of pet injection pellets to the Russian market last month-8.6 thousand tons and 3.3 thousand tons, respectively.

The top 5 Chinese suppliers this year are as follows: Yisheng delivered 13.5 thousand tons of pet injection granulate, Jiangsu-6 thousand tons, Sinopec – 6 thousand tons, Indorama -2.6 thousand tons, Dragon – 0.73 thousand tons.

The share of Lithuanian PET produced by Neo Group in January – March of this year increased significantly and amounted to 25% (4.4 thousand tons) against 13% (1.5 thousand tons) in the same period of 2019.
