【COVID-19】Bubble tea boom has brought iconic foods of Taiwan to the world stage

From bubble tea to taro ball desserts, from Taiwanese fried chicken to beef noodles, these are some of the iconic cuisines and snacks of Taiwan. As the bubble tea boom hits around the world, more and more Taiwanese specialties are growing in popularity globally. As Taiwan's foremost trade promoting organization, TAITRA has grasped the trend and been dedicated to promoting Taiwan franchise brands to every corner of the globe.

To raise the awareness of Taiwanese F&B brands, TAITRA organized the “Taiwan Franchise Brands Live Stream Seminar” on July 24th. Five well-known Taiwanese F&B brands, including CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice, Presotea (bubble tea and tea drinks), Fried Chicken Master (Taiwanese fried chicken), Meet Fresh (Taiwanese desserts) and Mazendo (Taiwanese cuisine), presented their brand features and strengths in this seminar. It attracted 123 international buyers from 27 countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UAE, the UK, the Czech Republic, etc. Many international buyers gave positive feedback about the event, and showed interest in cooperating with the brands soon after the seminar. Moreover, the seminar also received worldwide attention: the representative media of the franchise industry in Thailand, ThaiFranchiseCenter.com, reported on the seminar and introduced the brands to the public. By September 14th, this report has had 1.7 thousand views and 29 shares.

To further build connections for the five brands and international buyers, TAITRA invited 24 international buyers from 14 countries to have one-on-one online meetings with the five brands on August 14th. The online meetings served as a beginning of the cooperation between buyers and brands, and are of great help to them, especially during this time of a global pandemic. To conclude, these popular brands have built up a reputation for high quality in Taiwan, and now, they are ready to extend their brand influence worldwide.
