The emergence of new solutions in the IT industries (artificial intelligence, sensors, robotics), the pandemic and the increase in the proportion of patients with chronic diseases have increased the demand for digital technologies in healthcare. Experts of the Institute for Statistical Research and Economics of Knowledge (HSE IIEZ) using the iFORA big data analysis system (26 thousand sources reflecting the current agenda in science and business were analyzed) we have identified the most popular ones.

Biosensors were included in the top 3 technologies (first place in the research agenda and second in the market). They are used in fitness bracelets and smart watches for operational monitoring of body parameters (blood sugar, blood pressure, and others). Also in the top three are electronic medical record technologies that facilitate the work of doctors (second place in the index of significance in research and third for the market) and telemedicine (third and first places, respectively, the growth of interest in "remote" treatment was caused primarily by the pandemic).

The top ten popular technologies also include brain—computer interfaces used for the treatment of neurodegenerative and mental diseases and neurorehabilitation. mHealth applications are also in demand, the most popular of them are those that help lead a healthy lifestyle. Also included in the top 10 are robot surgeons, assistive products (allowing to compensate for lost functions and organs), technologies for analyzing medical images using computer vision algorithms, clinical decision support systems (big data is used in their creation) and the Internet of Things, which allows combining various devices and sensors into a holistic ecosystem.

Note that most of these technologies still cannot be called mass. A recent survey by the team of the Doctor's Handbook application showed that 20% of Russian doctors in the workplace do not even have Internet access. Only 3.8% of the surveyed doctors believe that the real level of digitalization of healthcare corresponds to what "television and the media show". The Ministry of Health, however, referring to internal studies in a number of regions, declare an increase in doctors' satisfaction with the process of introducing modern technologies into their work.
