The mobile telephone operator Togocom has just signed a partnership agreement with CsquaredWoezon, the joint venture created by the Togolese government and the Csquared company, in charge of managing the “Equiano” submarine cable project.”. This agreement, concluded on Thursday November 9, 2023, provides for the supply of 30 gigabits of bandwidth to Togocom over a period of 10 years, using the Equiano submarine cable.

The objective of this agreement is to strengthen the provision of Internet by Togocom; by exploiting the capabilities offered by this Google cable.

“The main interest of this partnership between Togocom and Csquared is to obtain a new international route for all Togolese customers, which will allow them to obtain better quality of service and better availability of the Internet connection. » , indicated Pierre-Antoine Legagneur, general director of Togocom. “This new cable, based on cutting-edge technology, will provide increasingly faster Internet, and we will be able to increase capacities as our customers' needs evolve. » , we add.

Also commenting on this agreement, the country boss of Csquared noted that, “recently, minor disruptions affected the Togocom network. By signing this partnership with Csquared, such interruptions will no longer happen. Thus, Togolese citizens will always be able to count on quality connectivity. »

Togocom already had similar agreements for the WACS (West African Cable System) and ACE (AfricanCoast to Europe) submarine cables, in terms of Internet provision. By leveraging Csquared's offering, the mobile phone company and internet service provider is expected to be able to offer a total bandwidth of 130 gigabits to consumers in Togo.

In Togo, the Equiano cable has been operational since August 2023, according to CsquaredWoezon.
