A state-of-the-art pharmaceutical factory, a groundbreaking development in Romania after three decades, is nearing completion in Turda, a city within the country. The construction progress stands at an impressive 70%, and the total investment for this monumental project is estimated to be around 50 million euros.

This ambitious endeavor is led by Stada Romania, a subsidiary of Stada Arzneimittel AG, and it has made remarkable headway in Turda within its first year of development. Situated in the Aries Industrial Park in Turda, Cluj County, this factory represents a substantial investment that surpasses the 50 million euro mark. It has received partial support from the Romanian government in the form of state aid, underlining its significance.

Designed to boast an impressive annual production capacity of 160 million boxes of pharmaceutical products, the Turda factory occupies approximately 30,000 square meters of space. It is poised to stand as one of the most advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in all of Europe. Moreover, the company has secured a substantial land area covering 100,000 square meters, allowing for potential future expansion.

Scheduled to commence operations in June 2024, the primary focus of the factory will be to cater to the Romanian market and other European countries where the Stada group has a presence. The first batches of pharmaceuticals are anticipated to be ready for distribution by October of the same year.

Turda's Mayor, Cristian Matei, has underscored the potential of the factory to create local employment opportunities. The establishment of this factory is viewed as a significant milestone for Turda's residents, promising the generation of numerous job positions. Mayor Matei has emphasized that the factory's opening in 2024 will not only bring about industrial growth but also offer fresh professional prospects for the local community. This project signifies a major leap forward for both the pharmaceutical industry in Romania and the economic landscape of Turda.
