The countdown has begun for the most important fashion event of 2024, Bucharest Fashion Week 2024. It will take place between October 16-17 and will transform the center of Bucharest into a vibrant fashion podium of global importance. Bucharest Fashion Week puts fashion design created in Romania on the same podium as the capitals that set the tone for trends: Milan, Paris, London or New York.
Bucharest Fashion Week aims to connect designers, buyers, local and international press, external producers and academics in the field in a unique artistic event organized to the highest international standards.
Bucharest Fashion Week will be a cultural and artistic phenomenon that, with the support of state institutions from the country and abroad, will propel and promote Romanian designers, making " Made in Romania " an internationally appreciated label. The event focuses on the promotion of Romanian fashion designers, but it is also an opportunity for emerging talents or top designers from the region, thus representing a connection between Eastern Europe and the rest of the continent.
Moreover, the event will bring together an impressive community of professionals, fashion designers, buyers, celebrities, influencers, bloggers, fashion editors, journalists, PR and media representatives, stylists, photographers, videographers, make-up artists, hairstylists and fashion enthusiasts. With the presence of exceptional international guests, world-renowned journalists and university professors from Europe, Bucharest Fashion Week will be an artistic, cultural and tourist landmark for Romania.
The event focuses on 3 main pillars, namely:
Runway Fashion Shows: Renowned designers from Romania and Eastern Europe will reveal their latest collections, in the presence of a live audience. The shows will take place both in historic buildings and unconventional spaces, building a fashion district in the center of the capital, which includes many famous locations.
Among the top Romanian designers who will give presentations are: Maria Lucia Hohan, SeenUsers, Rhea Costa, Almaz, Murmur, Manuri and many others.
With the idea of becoming a landmark for Eastern European fashion, the event will invite a series of stylists and designers from Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Poland.
Education: International Italian School of Bucharest and UNARTE from Bucharest will host a series of discussions of the "FashionTalks" type, which will include workshops, seminars and panels with local and international speakers. It will also be the perfect opportunity for young talents to participate in workshops and masterclasses held by guests from top international fashion schools.
Trade: With the support of institutions from the country and abroad, conferences will be organized dedicated to operators in the fashion industry, on business or trade topics, in which exceptional international guests will participate as speakers. Thus, the event becomes a networking place.
These are not the only opportunities within the event. Bucharest Fashion Week will have different points called Fashion Hubs, where static exhibitions of the collections will be presented, there will be backstage dedicated to industry professionals and locations for pre-parties, after-parties and events dedicated to networking and socializing.
During the two days, all these happenings will take place in emblematic locations in Bucharest: La Mita Biciclista – Creative Establishment, UNArte, Intercontinental Athenee Palace Hotel, the National Art Museum of Romania, the Odeon Theater and the Romanian Athenaeum, as well as spaces established artistic works such as Artmark or Art Safari.
