Hermes opens a store in Bucharest! The French group, which is one of the most important players in the luxury industry worldwide, wants to enter the Romanian market. The company intends to open its own store in the center of Bucharest, in the Athenaeum area. According to budgetul.ro, the brand will come directly, not in a franchise system.
Hermes is an exclusive brand recognized in all corners of the world for its elegance, attention to detail and impeccable quality. Despite the fact that it is established almost 200 years ago, with the passage of time, the Hermes fashion house has become more and more well-known and appreciated.
Currently, the company has 300 stores in 45 countries and produces especially in France, in its more than 50 own factories. Hermes has stores in the main cities of the world, in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, being present in Poland (Warsaw) and the Czech Republic (Prague). Other Hermes stores can be found in Greece, Turkey and Austria.
The Hermes company was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermes. He opened a small shop in Paris that sold luxury harnesses for horses. For this reason, the company logo is represented by a carriage and a horse. In 1880, when Charles-Emile Hermes, son of Thierry Hermes, took over the management of the company, he moved the store to the famous Parisian street Faubourg Saint-Honore, at number 24, where it is still located today. Charles-Emile, helped by his two sons, Adolphe and Emile-Maurice, managed to make the Hermes brand known in Europe, Asia, America and North Africa.
In 1900, Hermes launched the first bag, which was called Haut a Courroies. The bag was intended for people who rode and put their saddles in it. 20 years after that, Emile-Maurice introduced the first line of Hermes accessories. In 1922, he created a leather bag intended especially for women. From here the evolution was spectacular, the brand becoming a landmark in luxury.
The most famous bag created by Hermes is the Birkin, after the famous French actress and singer Jane Birkin. The price of such a bag starts from 7,000 euros and can exceed 100,000 euros if it is made of exotic leather. Those wishing to receive such a bag must register on a waiting list.
