The 2013 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) closed on February 4 with substantial results in publisher participation, copyright transaction, and reading promotion. This year the TIBE saw the participation of 737 publishers from 70 countries, with a total of 2,112 booths across different venues. The number of activities also jumped from 800 last year to 1,123. One of the spotlights this year was the takeoff of original Taiwanese publications, including the debut of various original animations, which illustrates the irreplaceable vivacity and diversity of the TIBE.
